Les Tapisseries D'Halluin French Tapestry

DUCKS VERDURE, TAPISSERIE by JULES PANSU. "Point d'Halluin" weave, XVI - XVII century tapestry. The "verdure" genre was very popular in the 17th century, resulting in some magnificient tapestries. This vedure evokes the calm of a peaceful country life in a gentle landscape. Two ducks swim in a pond, not far from a castle in the background, nestled among the lush vegetation. Jules Pansu acquired the Tissages de la Lys factory in Halluin, in northern France, which has been the cradle of tapestry since the Middle Ages. The tapestry is a jacquard fabric.
